Project Summary

About the project

The objectives of our project are implicit in the call, since the Erasmus Plus programme in its section «Environment and fight against climate change» encourages the development of projects that, through education, training, youth and sport, lead to behavioural changes regarding people’s preferences, consumption habits and lifestyles; develop the sustainability competences of educators and educational leaders, and support the planned approaches of the participating organisations to environmental sustainability by promoting the integration of disabled athletes in our activities.

(Our entire project revolves around the development of the climate-neutral strategy – protecting the marine environment through sport).

In the field of sport, the objectives are marked by the section on the promotion of integrity and values in sport (in our project, sport aims, through its own values, to defend the environment in which they operate, which is the sea, with the aim of protecting the environment of their sporting practice and making others aware of the need to take measures to care for our ocean).

With regard to the objectives of the action, we intend to respond to the following objectives:

To address common priorities and needs in the fields of education, training, youth and sport.

To promote transformation and change (at individual, sectoral or organisational level, leading to improvements proportionate to the context of each organisation).

In relation to the Horizontal Priority

Environmental sustainability (helping organisations and participants to find alternative, greener ways of implementing project activities, addressing the needs of sport inclusion).

Our project

Aims to link the world of sport with Sustainable Development, under three fundamental premises:

Sport requires for its practice, the use of natural resources and the enjoyment of environmental services. (That is why we choose sports in the sea that are concerned about the care of their environment and at the same time we use them as awareness speakers about the responsible use of the sea, as an indispensable environmental element).
Sport can collaborate in the minimisation of environmental effects, for example in the organisation of sporting events and competitions (We are going to focus on the organisation of sporting events with a low environmental impact, which encourage care and regeneration).
Sport can transmit values of sustainable development to society thanks to its great power of dissemination (we use the value of sport itself, through practice, to promote good practices and we are helped by elite sportsmen and women who help us with their loudspeakers to raise awareness of the importance of doing sport in a sustainable way and taking care of the marine environment, which provides us with so many contexts for sport).

Our specific objectives, which we will present later in the work plan, seek to achieve the following Lines of Action:

\

Research, through sport.

\

Awareness-raising and information process, through water sports disciplines.

\

Designing action plans, through the sporting activities themselves.

\

Dissemination and Awareness, through sporting events.
